I’m just a (devilishly-handsome) guy who made a conscious decision at the age of 20 that the status quo wasn’t good enough.

I was first introduced to the crazy world of network marketing in the Spring of 2000. I was 20 years old, fresh out of the Navy after a couple of years, and had just started going to school at Stanford North Dakota State University. Hey, it was cheap and my Mom lived in the area, so it financially made sense while I was trying to figure how to build my empire. :D

I was walking around campus one afternoon after class when I noticed a neon yellow flyer that ready something like this:

Leaders Wanted! Part-Time Work, Full-Time Income!
Get Paid What You're Worth While Helping Others!
"You Miss 100% of The Shots You Don't Take" - Wayne Gretzky
Call 1-800-JOBS-SUK

Without knowing for sure if Wayne really said that or not, I tore off the phone number, listened to the 3 minute message, and a few days later after watching a video  in a complete strangers basement of a guy talking about long distance phone service and drawing circles, I had my own business!

Since I didn’t truly desire to be a lawyer anymore and was only going to school because “it’s what you’re supposed to do”, I immediately did as I was told and put together my list of the top 20 people that now needed what I had to offer. Hey, I only needed to sponsor 3 and the rest would work itself out until I was making $64,000 per month on my first 7 levels, right? :D

So that night, I invited over my 3 best friends who were going to become millionaires with me and showed the 2 who came the same DVD I had seen earlier. As the credits were rolling, I could see they were excited by what they had just witnessed. As they were raving about how cool the 3-who-get-3 concept was and how everyone has a phone like the video said, strangely enough they weren’t begging to join my team like I expected. Basically, they said everything was awesome but they didn’t have the money/time/etc. to get started, PLUS they wanted to see how I did first.

I couldn’t believe that they didn’t see it like I did! They’re were just offered a million dollar business for $250 and they didn’t jump at it!?

I thought they were nuts.

So I continued plugging away at trying to build my business, and for the next 2 years I bothered my friends and family to come to opportunity meetings, littered the town with neon green flyers and drop cards, asked complete strangers “if they keep their options open to making some extra money” and basically beat my head against the wall because I wanted to be successful so badly.

After three and a half long years of going on like this, you know how many people I sponsored? Two

(In retrospect, this was technically where I was first exposed to the concept of what would become know as attraction marketing).

One day in the Fall of 2004, I got a call from my sponsor saying that our amazing, super, life-changing company had decided to stop doing network marketing and that as of Friday I wouldn’t have a business anymore. I remember feeling a mix between disbelief, anger, and relief.

Yep, as upset as I was, I was momentarily glad that I wouldn’t have to chase after strangers anymore or embarrass my friends by leaving an avalanche of bright yellow sizzle cards everywhere we went.

About the same time, I packed up a U-Haul, grabbed my dog and set out for my new home in Las Vegas, NV. As a budding performance (flair) bartender, it only made sense to live where most of the competitions were held and where there were the most jobs. If you want to be a famous actor you move to Hollywood, amirite?

One day around Christmas 2004, I got a call from my old sponsor saying he’s found a different network marketing company that’s in the health and wellness industry and continued to tell me all about the amazing products and opportunity. Even though I was still stinging from my previous experience in MLM, I knew I didn’t want to work until 3am for the rest of my life or to pursue a career in corporate America, so I jumped on board again.

Well, sort of.

I loved the quality of the products and used them as a consumer, but really only told a few people about the business off and on. A wildly successful business did not ensue.

However, I did manage to sponsor two people and actually had a little growth in one of my legs until I had a downline of a couple dozen people. The checks were still small, but it was my first taste of what having a residual income could be like and the power of network marketing.

Fast forward to 2009, I had been working in the finance industry and was having some decent success but was growing tired of the long work weeks and constant stress. I still technically had my network marketing business with my current company, but it had dwindled down to essentially a handful of people who were ordering products every month with no real recruiting going on.

It was then I made a decision that totally changed my life.

I decided I was going to learn how to market my opportunity using the leverage and power of the internet. Best decision ever in the end, but at the time I basically took a shotgun approach and wasted a lot of money and almost a year of my life studying any marketing material I could get my hands on.

To¬† be clear, I say “wasted” because even though the education has been invaluable, I spent WAY too much time trying to figure everything out before I found a complete system that would have cut my learning curve down to a couple of weeks, but I’ll get into that later, OK?

Anyways, after spending most of my free time reading blogs about getting ranked on search engines, ebooks on buying clicks in Google, pouring through countless emails from “gurus” who will give me the magic bullet for only $1995, I started to figure some things out. I wasn’t getting the results I’m getting now after aligning myself with a mastermind of network marketing rockstars, but things were starting to click.

Anyways, here I am making more today in my business than I have for the last 9 years combined in network marketing. I’m going to finally be one of the people that gets to go on the company-sponsored top achievers’ trips to Bora Bora and the Bahamas.

I’m no longer a Network Marketing failure.

So here are my two questions for you:

  1. Are you ready finally stop struggling in your business so you can live the life you envisioned when you chose this path of entrepreneurship?
  2. How can I help?

Please take those two questions seriously, my friend. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me and my journey, and I hope to hear from from you soon.

To YOUR Success,

Me With My Little Sister
